Frequently Asked Questions

When will I receive my wedding films?

We will have your wedding videos completed within 12 weeks from your wedding date. Often you will receive your videos earlier than this, but we say 12 weeks as a maximum time frame.


We will first email a link to you containing your highlight clip so that you can share this with friends and family. We will then provide your highlight clip and full wedding video on your USB that we will post to you.

Can I request changes to my wedding video?

It is important to us that you are happy and satisfied with your product and we want you to have a wedding film that you will love forever! We will provide a link to your highlight clip and ask if there are any changes you would like us to make. At this point please let us know if there are any changes you would like and we will do so free of charge.


If you would like further changes beyond this, there would be an additional edit fee, so please let us know at the time so that we can create the best highlight clip for you!

Do you back up your footage?

Absolutely! As soon as we finish a job we back up all footage onto our external hard drives. We keep a minimum of 2-3 copies of your footage to ensure that we never lose any footage. We continue to hold on to a copy of all footage from your wedding for 3 weeks after you have received your USB containing your wedding videos. After this time, we will delete files to make room for other couples’ weddings. 


Do you provide a wedding videography contract?

We provide a written contract to all couples for wedding videography. We believe that a contract is important so that everyone is clear on the service provided; for example couples understand the product/s they are receiving and the time frame they can expect receive their wedding videos.


Why do you include two videographers?

Simply put, we believe the product you will receive is significantly better with 2 videographers. With 2 videographers we can capture multiple angles and reaction shots of family members, or filming the groom’s reaction whilst also capturing the bride walking down the aisle.


Do you charge for travel?

We do not charge for travel for up to 60km from Adelaide CBD and also 60 kms from Bridgewater, Adelaide Hills as this is where we are based. If your wedding is further away please feel free to get in touch and we will let you know our travel fee.


How many cameras do you set up?

For the ceremony we have a 3- 4 camera set up. We have 1 or 2 cameras discreetly set up at the back of the ceremony to provide a wide angle, and we each have a camera also. For the rest of your wedding we will just use the 2 cameras.


Do you record sound?

We believe it is essential to have clear high quality sound for your wedding videos, so we record sound from multiple sources. Where possible we will record with a line out from the desk as this gives us excellent quality sound. If the groom is happy for us to do so, we will place a small lapel mic on the groom’s jacket with the recorder placed in the inside pocket. We have an additional small recorder which we will place in a suitable spot for the ceremony/ speeches. In addition we have a microphone attached to a camera to capture ambient sound and the audience reactions.


What equipment do you use?

We use a range of professional cameras and lenses and sound recording equipment. We also use a gimble stabiliser to provide smooth, sweeping shots, for example during the photo shoot. We aim to be as unobtrusive as possible, and like to capture natural moments during your wedding day.


Can I choose my own music?

We generally select the music for the wedding videos, and pay to licence all the music we use. We choose the music that we feel best fits with the feel of the wedding video. 


However, if you would like to choose your own music for your wedding videos, please let us know this ahead of time, so that we can include your choices into your when we are we editing. If you would like to choose your own music, we can provide you with websites to look at and request that you provide us with a few options that you like the sound of. From these, we will choose the track/s that fit well your wedding video.


Do you require a deposit?

Yes we require a non-refundable deposit of 20% to secure your wedding date. Once we receive the deposit, your wedding videography will be booked for that date.


What are your payment options?

We require an upfront deposit to secure the date, and the remaining balance paid no later than 3 weeks prior to your wedding date. We will send out a reminder email and invoice, 1 month prior to your wedding date.


Alternatively couples are welcome to pay their wedding off in instalments. This can take the pressure off coming up with a lump sum close to the wedding date. Please speak to us if you would like to consider this option and we can calculate your instalment amounts.


Do you provide any other services?

We also have a Photo Booth! The Good Times Photo Booth is an open air wooden booth that comes with a range of props, a selection of backdrops and unlimited prints.


We offer the photo booth at a discounted price for your reception when you book your wedding videography with Blackbird Wedding Productions!


One of us will attend the photo booth whilst the other continues to film your reception. During important moments like speeches and the first dance, when guests will not be using the photo booth, the person attending the booth will temporarily join the other videographer to film, and then return to the booth afterwards.
